Tabletop games developer and retailer Steamforged Games has announced 3PL will be exclusively handling UK and European fulfilment for their hit board game ‘Dark Souls’.
Steamforged Games launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, initially seeking £50,000 to create the game. Their funding total was achieved within three minutes of launch and the campaign eventually raised over £3.7 million.
Based on the video game, ‘Dark Souls – The Board Game’ is a strategically challenging, deeply immersive combat game that introduces a number of innovative gameplay mechanics and includes world-class miniatures. The crowdfunding campaign proved so popular that Steamforged Games needed to find a company with a proven track record of handling high volume crowdfunding fulfilment projects, to ensure their many backers had a delivery experience that matched ‘Dark Souls – The Board Game’.
“Crowdfunded campaigns have become increasingly popular in recent years in terms of Project Fulfilment exercises conducted via 3PL”, said John Scully, Business Development Manager at 3PL commented. “We are delighted to be working with such a forward thinking and dynamic company as Steamforged Games and look forward to working with them into the future with other similar campaigns.”
Judy Guan, Logistics Director at Steamforged, said: “It’s great to be working with a fulfilment company that’s both local to us and has such a positive reputation. We value customer service, and 3PL have been excellent at getting products to our customers in an efficient manner.”
